Accountant / Finance Analyst
Fractional CFO Practice
Support the financial needs of multiple client businesses, from reporting and forecasting to financing and transactions.
The opportunity.
We are looking for an Accountant / Finance Analyst to work directly with our partners and support the financial needs of multiple client businesses. You will build a strong foundation in accounting and reporting while gaining exposure to the decisions that drive business performance.
You will help deliver reliable financial reporting, budgets, cash flow forecasts and practical analysis that owners can use to make better decisions. You will work closely with experienced advisors, contribute to real client engagements and grow well beyond a traditional accounting role.
What you’ll do.
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review month end reconciliations, financial statements and management reporting for client organizations.
- Investigate discrepancies, support accounting clean up and improve charts of accounts, processes and internal controls.
- Develop reporting packages, KPI dashboards and clear variance analysis for owners and leadership teams.
Forecasting & Business Performance
- Build budgets, rolling forecasts, cash flow projections and financial models.
- Analyze margins, job costing, working capital, equipment costs and other drivers of profitability.
- Turn financial data into practical findings, recommendations and decision support.
Financing, Transactions & Client Support
- Support lender packages, borrowing base and covenant reporting, and other financing requests.
- Assist with financial due diligence, normalized earnings and acquisition or sale support.
- Work with client bookkeepers, controllers, accountants and management teams to collect and validate information.
- Join client meetings, summarize findings and help improve FourX templates, models and reporting tools.
What you bring.
- Post secondary education in accounting, finance or a related field, with approximately 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Solid hands on accounting knowledge: financial statements, reconciliations, month end processes and accounting systems.
- Strong Excel skills and comfort building forecasts, analyses and well organized reporting.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage, Xero or comparable accounting software.
- Attention to detail, initiative, professional communication and the ability to manage several client priorities.
Assets: CPA designation or progress toward CPA; Power BI or other reporting tools; financing or banking exposure; experience with SMEs, job costing, cash flow forecasting or AI enabled tools.
